Elysia and Ron's romantic intimate wedding in Connecticut was one of the sweetest, most emotional wedding I've had the honor of witnessing and documenting. These two are the kind of couple that, when you see them together, you can instantly tell they were a match made in heaven. Their love is sweet, kind, thoughtful, and supportive - couple goals at its finest!
I actually went to high school with Elysia, so when she reached out to me about being her wedding photographer, I was over the moon! I've said it before, but I'll say it again - working with folks you know personally and getting to document such an important time in their life, such as their wedding, is the greatest pleasure.
Their wedding day was on a warm September day, and was hosted on their friend's lush property in West Suffield, Connecticut. There were so many thoughtful, elegant, and even playful touches that set the tone with their decor for their romantic intimate wedding. The timeline for their romantic intimate wedding was super laid back with lots of room to breathe, which helped their day to feel calm and peaceful.
One special feature they included on their wedding day was a tree that was adorned with hanging glass candle holders, and picture frames with photos of their moms, as both of them had sadly passed away. It was quite emotional for the two of them to not have such important loved ones there with them on their wedding day, and they embraced those emotions as they came. They were also showered with love and support from their community, their friends, and their family members, to help make their wedding day a bright celebration, despite their losses. It made for some tear-jerking moments, even for me just witnessing it all, and it was the most beautiful display of loss and love. I don't think there are any words I could type into this blog post that could even come close to the magical, emotional feeling of the day, but it's a feeling my being will never forget.
One thing I adored about Elysia and Ron's romantic intimate wedding is that they put a lot of thought into the details of the day to make it feel true to them, which, you may know by now, I'm a sucker for. Every piece of decor, every song, every moment felt so intentionally chosen and planned. From the rings, to the flowers, to the delicious food - Elysia and Ron did a spectacular job of incorporating their vibe as a couple into their wedding day, and that's something I would urge every couple to try to embody in their wedding day.
When I think back to Elysia and Ron's wedding day, I remember it being so much fun! It was filled with laughter and smile, dancing, dogs (always a perk), the most PERFECT weather, and it was one of those weddings where I felt like I already knew everyone there, even though I didn't! Their friends and family were so incredibly welcoming and kind that anyone would feel like family being around them. I was so happy to experience a sliver of the love that exudes from Elsyia and Ron's loved ones.
There's so much I could say about their wedding day, and yet it's one of those weddings where I think trying to put it all into words doesn't do it justice. So, instead, I'll let you look through the photos and immerse yourself into their day yourself.
This wedding was a sweet treat to document, and it's a day I couldn't possibly forget in this lifetime. I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to freeze this once-in-a-lifetime experience in time for Elysia and Ron to reflect back on for a lifetime to come.
